The Granary is just a decent family place for some simple, tasty food. The dining room is clean, well lit, and spacious, and when weather permits, there is seating in a screened porch as well. The staff are always pleasant and friendly, even when rushed, and treat everyone like an old regular. The food is basic diner faire, cooked consistently well, and with little wait. Breakfast is always on offer, and is perhaps their best, though not to be outdone by the ice cream delights. Overall, a good place for a weekend brunch, or a night you just don't feel like cooking dinner.

We wee just on a bike ride from crystal lake to Boulder Junction, and stopped here around lunch time. It was pretty much just at the end of the trail, so I would say location is perfect for my party of 5 people. The food was pretty good, nothing special, but very affordable. The atmosphere is great, and they are pretty good with food allergies. Overall it is a very nice place, and I would go there again if I was in the area.

Just ate there 3 days in a row!! Our whole group loved it (10 of us snowmobiling) They have good home made Cinnamon rolls Food comes out quick and hot. There are many different options. The awesome staff remembered the names of the kids in our group and welcomed them back. pricing is very affordable

For an 'up north' breakfast or an 'up north' lunch, in a town with only one main street, stop by The Granary. Here is a place where first names are prevalent, the service is fast and friendly, the breakfasts have a home cooked appeal, and the lunches are loaded with healthy, fresh, unbelievably good produce (with a special note for their fabulous chicken salad, chipotle southwest burger, and the BLT in a super herbal wrap). Not to mention homemade lemonade and a super cup of coffee that is never ending. All this and a view and breeze of gentle pine trees as you sit on a newly screened porch, enjoying your meal, and wondering why anyone would head back to the city ... any city. And keep in mind: for those busy after church brunches or a Saturday check out when you (unfortunately) must return to the reality that is not northern Wisconsin, don't be surprised to wait a bit. Because this secret is out. The good news: The Granary is definitely worth the wait.

Service is actually quite good with polite wait staff and timely service. Food is very average. My last visit, though, was disappointing as far as the price. I was with my husband who is a fairly hearty breakfast eater. He ordered a breakfast sandwich ( English muffin, egg, ham and cheese) . It came with a side of potatoes. Price was $5.99. I was not very hungry so I ordered just one egg and an English muffin. The price was an outrageous $4.99. I questioned the price at checkout but was told it was correct. Oh, how I hate to pay for not overeating ! I have since ordered the same two items three times at three different restaurants across the country and the cost was, in all cases, half the cost.

This is one of the few poor cafes in the Nort' Woods. The owner's wife has an attitude and an opinion that you will learn to tolerate 'or else'! Food is mediocre at best (How can you ruin breakfast?) and you will be able to read your newspaper through the weak coffee. Guess the coffee beans are rare up there. Cant find one unique or signature dish that is worth the dime. I know that the operation is listed for sale and has nothing to do with the food or service. Just disinterested owners and help. Drive around the corner and try ANYPLACE ELSE. The Outdoorsman is a good start!
